WHERE DO FUNDRAISING DOLLARS GO?

Fox Hollow’s PTO is dedicated to raising funds that enhance our students’ academic experiences and build a strong, connected school community through a variety of social events and activities.
Teaching Assistants (TAs) play a vital role in supporting both teachers and students. To help the school employ additional staff, the majority of PTO funds are allocated to School Grants, which supplement TA salaries.
If funds remain after the School Grant has been distributed, the PTO votes on whether to offer Grade Level Grants, Teacher Grants, or School Improvement Grants for the following school year.
Fox Hollow has a great school community. We use less than 1% of the PTO budget for various SOCIAL EVENTS & ACTIVITIES:
-
Kindergarten Coffee
-
Donuts with Dear Ones
-
Trunk or Treat
-
Staff Luncheons & Teacher Appreciation
-
Veterans Day Tea
-
Fox Trotters

Over the years, the PTO have created TEACHER RESOURCES to assist with classroom lesson plans.
-
The garden has a "teacher bin" where teachers can find magnifying glasses, kid pruners, measuring tape, tweezer, clipboards, paper and pencils (and more) to explore and assist with any educational lessons.
-
In the library, teachers have a grow light and hydroponic system, along with all the items needed to start a seedling. Any plants produced are planted in the school garden for Plant Day.
-
Teachers can check out Bug Hunt Boxes and iPads from the STEM room. Students can catch bugs and use the Bug Identifier App on the iPad to help them with science projects or reports.
The PTO budgets to maintain these resources and make sure the areas are replenished at the beginning of every school year.

In addition, fundraising efforts has allowed for SCHOOL IMPROVEMENTS:
In 2020, the PTO raised enough money to add a cement pad and new seating area outside the cafeteria. This area is used for the "Reading Buddies" program where our older students read with our younger students. In 2021, the PTO added a shade so this area can be utilized, during all times of the school day, as an outdoor teaching space for classrooms. This space is also used for community events, such as, Donuts with Dear Ones or meetings with Room Parents.
In 2022, Fox Hollow still had its original sign (one of the last elementary schools in the district). The PTO was able to raise enough money and have it replaced with a new electronic marquee.

Did you know that Fox Hollow Elementary is CCSD's designated school for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students? We also have two Independent Learning Classrooms (ILC) to support our students with special needs. In 2023, thanks to fundraising efforts, the PTO was able to add a cement path to this Garden Expansion.
Garden Expansion Goals:
-
Education - to continue hands-on learning through education stations
-
Sensory - include elements that are tactile, auditory or visual.
-
Elements that benefit the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH)
-
Elements that benefit our special needs (friends who are sensitive to sound, or overstimulation)
-
-
Mental Health - a calming space that all students may use as a space to relax or self-regulate.
-
Create a low maintenance space that can be used year-round (weather permitting).
-
Wheelchair accessible

In 2024, the PTO hired a talented artist to design and create a vibrant Sensory Path for students to enjoy during recess. The path combines color, movement, and learning, giving kids a fun and engaging way to regulate their energy, build coordination, and reset during the school day.
We also added a hopscotch course with uplifting “I AM” messages on each square, encouraging students to move, play, and build confidence at the same time.
